Cathedral of Junk
Branding | Typography | Photography
The Cathedral of Junk is a unique tourist attraction in a local Austin man’s backyard. It is a walk-through collection filled with sculptures and stories to go along with them. This piece is made purely of random antiques and junk donated to Vince, the artist. Despite its materials, it is safe for guests to walk through and explore- it’s all connected with heavy metal wire to hold its structure. This is a must see attraction for anyone in Austin!
When creating a branding system and tabloid for Vince’s piece, I needed encompass his vision through my work. I decided that creating my own typeface was the best way to do this, so I created a logo with this new font that was out of the box, but still clean. The Cathedral of Junk is an extremely unique phenomenon, and I knew I needed to capture that throughout my deliverables as well.
“One man’s junk is another man’s treasure.”
