Pittsburgh
Branding | Visual Design
Pittsburgh is a city in the southwest corner of Pennsylvania that is known for its 446 bridges- currently more than any other city in the world! It also boasts beautiful views of the Appalachian mountains, loads of family fun opportunities, and a lively night life downtown.
Despite being around for over 200 years, a proper mark was never developed for this city full of history. I wanted to be sure to honor the city and its highlights when creating this mark. The logo itself is a yellow bridge symbolizing all of the bridges Pittsburgh is known for. The three stripes of blue beneath represent the three rivers that surround the city, hence the different shades of blue. In order to keep the system cohesive throughout the deliverables, I created a pattern off of the logo and tastefully used the bold colors, along with black and white to keep a balance.
